Safety Information
Your Health Is Our Concern
Our office uses every safety precaution while providing excellent dental care.
OSHA is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. We follow their universal precautions including masks, gloves, and protective eye.
All staff members are trained in CPR and the use of an AED. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, commonly known as CPR, is an emergency procedure performed in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest.
An AED unit is in the office. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm. If needed, it can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm. AEDs are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest.
Dental Materials
We have spent years studying the ingredients in dental materials. As a result, we use the “cleanest” dental materials for all procedures.
Preservative and epinephrine-free anesthetic is used whenever possible. This lessens the chance you may have a reaction to these additives.
IAOMT
Dr. David Edwards is an accredited member of the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology). Our office follows the IAOMT guidelines for the safe removal of amalgam/mercury fillings.
The IAOMT is a professional organization consisting of Dentists and Medical Doctors who study and research toxic materials and how those materials affect health. They use research from respected universities as well as other research organizations to set up guidelines for safe practices.
